STAMP: Stamp inside stamps by Emotikonz STAMP: Stamp inside stamps by Emotikonz
:iconxzibitplz: Yo dawg I heard you like stamps so I put a stamp inside your stamp

....and the inner stamp has a semi-transparent GLOSS! *ooooer*

This should count as a stamp about stamps, even though the only 'text' is an address. :B

The overall gloss of the envelope, or the semi-transparency of the mini-stamp?

STAMP: Painted black and white on a separate layer, layered up bit by bit. layer set to overlay, transparency to about 30-50% depending of the colour underneath and what it looks best. (Sometimes as low or high as 10% or 70%)

MINI-STAMP: The lettering is white at about 70% fill. The outline of the letters and inner stamp edge at about 30%... and a pixelled drop shadow of text at 50% (making that part below the text a total of around 50%). The gloss of the entire envelope is not inside the masked bulk of the stamp, and is therefore allowed to go over that segment. Because it is mostly transparent, it just creates a soft glow.

To preserve the semi-transparency that goes over the edges of the stamp, it must be saved as a PNG (which saves each channel - Red, Green, Blue, and Alpha aka 'transparency') separately. It means you can't animate it unless you make it an APNG (animated PNG) - which ALSO supports semi-transparency, but not all browsers support it.
See the stamp in the top-left module on my front page to see whether or not yours can, I made a stamp USING APNG to show you whether your browser supports it or not. ;)

Wow, I didn't expect you to actually explain to me, so thank you very much for your kindness and time. about the animated png.... holy, because of that stamp I understand why nothing animates unless I'm moving my mouse around. At least that's what it seems like.

What were you expecting me to do? Say "away with thy questions, HEATHEN!" or something? :XD:

Sometimes I get that animates-only-when-moving-the-mouse, but that is dependant on file type because I get that for GIFs. And sometimes it doesn't do that. My guess is that it is part of Firefox's GIF animation 'optimisation' techniques, which also leads to deliberately skipping frames on occasion. It may depend on broadband speed, or more likely remaining working memory and/or CPU usage... stuff like that.

lmao kinda. <3

Ah, my broadband is pretty high, right after you told me that I switched to I.E and gifs were running but apparently now my browser doesn't support APNG XD but it's nice to be told all this though since I'm only a half-nut in computer savviness, so thank you very much.

Ahh, so it most likely is the working memory/CPU.

You are welcome! :D
