I AM NO LONGER TAKING AVATAR REQUESTS
I AM NO LONGER TAKING AVATAR REQUESTS
What is this list?
This list is for requests - specifically, character panel and stamp requests. If you have a suggestion for an emoticon/animation/set or a stamp that is NOT personalised to your username, please make your suggestion on the Suggestion List instead. Suggestions made will be shared. Not all suggestions will be accepted, but I suspect most will be. Some might take a long time to do if I think they're kind of hard (or lame)...
Worrying it's taking ages?
You shouldn't. If I run into issues, I will tell you about them. You're on a list so you're not forgotten. BUT I initially offered two options - pay and get it done immediately, or free and wait until I feel like it. Almost all of you choose FREE ONLY, despite the fact you could have chosen EITHER, LET US CHOOSE: emotikonz.deviantart.com/journ… ...perhaps because you thought free would get done sooner that way..? I don't know. But the fact of the matter is that for this reason requests have become a "I feel like making someting, what is on my list?" type deal, rather than an obligation. But hey, it was you guys that chose this.
In the meantime, you can just use a free one. I AM NO LONGER TAKING AVATAR REQUESTS

Stamp Requests
Please DO NOT take advantage of them being free and make a request on a whim "just to see what I can do". It is infuriating to make something and find out the recipient never ever uses it - especially if others are waiting for theirs while I worked on it. You must either be unable to make one yourself, or honestly believe that what I can make is better than what you are using (or could make yourself in the cases of avatar 'bandwagons') before you make a request.
My specialty is emoticons, particularly animals. Please do not ask for pixel art, dolls, sprites, or anything that is too complex/detailed to be made into an emoticon. I cannot do these and I will only get depressed trying, and then provide some piece of because I am, at this stage, incapable of anything better.
Your request must be of an appropriate subject matter. I mean, it's hard to make an emoticon that would need a mature tag, but if your request would, it won't be made. I have standards, dA has standards (though many users don't comply to them ) so let's all have standards together.
Stamps do not have file size limits but try and keep them lower with simple requests for people on dial-up. Animated stamps have a 256 colour limit, too.

Character Panels
I will need information on your character. Please DO NOT miss any:
A character name. Maximum eleven characters (including spaces), though if your name has narrow letters (I or L) or punctuation because you're trying to be Sci-Fi (A'Name)you may get more, wide letters (W or M) you may get less. Aim for 10.
A "species" or equivalent stat (Species: human, cat, rabbit, etc or equivalent: angel, demon, wizard, zombie, etc), a gender (N/A for things like angels, demons etc that would not breed), and an approximate age (optional but preferred. Things like ~20 (around 20) are acceptable). Each line has character limit of 9.
Several stats. max of 10 lines, but gaps between paragraphs means that you can only fit 8 one-line qualities, but 5 two-line qualities. These qualities may be modified, paraphrased, shortened or simplified to make room.
A PREVIEW of you emoticon (preferably with some kind of vertical turning/rotating). This is very important. If you can send me a file with different layers preserved (assuming you use layers) even better. Zip or RAR it and send it to dragon-cub@hotmail.com. This is because I will be making it in your style, if I am able. You may request my style if you like, but my 'human' emoticons are for IMing, so they are very no-nonsense and boring. See "Default" example under the 'finished' section and see for yourself.
A basic description for a background. These are location-based (eg beaver = lake lodge, sheep = fenced field, etc). Give a basic description. Backgrounds may either be a very rudimentary Photoshop 'painting' (as they are not the image focus), or a stock photograph.
If your OC is an animal endemic to a certain region, you may also request a basic 'map outline' of the region behind the character in the animation panel.
Speed. My first ones were 0.03s but since have started using 0.06s. If you have Firefox 2 (or 3, which can support 0.02s) or Opera 9, you may choose the first - but be wary of those that have neither as it will appear at 0.01s (slow).
Spin type - you may have either vertical 'momentum' spin, or horizontal 'twist' spin (not both). If you choose horizontal, a back view of your emote is a MUST.
Panel type - standard, or spooky. Depending on your character I may try other types (eg tech, flouro, etc), but these are the only two I currently have examples of:
'Spooky' by default has the "rusted metal" with blood background. The metal and blood are on seperate layers so you can have metal without blood or have the blookd overlaying a different image, etc. Text tint depends on the background in 'spooky' style.
I DO NOT DO SPRITES. THESE ARE EMOTICON CHARACTER PANELS ONLY. I can however turn your OC into an emoticon.

CURSOR SETS
THESE CURSORS SETS ARE THEMES FOR www.stardock.com/products/curs… (CURSORFX). www.stardock.com/products/curs… (CursorFX) is therefore required to use them (The free version works fine!) and www.stardock.com/products/curs… (CursorFX) is for XP, Vista and W7 only.
Emoticon cursor sets can be made of various 'animotes' - animal emoticons, such as foxes, owls, and cats. Long snouted aimals like crocidiles etc are possible but will have different, limited animation due to their nature.
Cursors feature a different facial expression for each resize direction, too, which can be a source of amusement on its own! Comment with what you would like.
CURSOR SETS ARE NOT PERSONALISED and will be uploaded here to be shared with anyone. The more people who request a particular animote, the higher it is bumped in priority and is done sooner.
See an image of my personal set, with a list of animations used in it emotikonz.deviantart.com/art/C… (here).

...that is not a definate order of creation - it depends on how long I expect each one to take, so ones that take a week won't delay those that take a few mintues to an hour. Also 'standard' avatars, at least those with emoticons, are generally done before any "OC" ones, regardless of listing time (unless the OC one is really, really, SERIOUSLY old).
